OE-0008 - December 2016 - SAF II - Caribbean Sector - Haiti - Southern Department - Il a Vache Island

Mission Team 8 was successfully completed under the physician leadership of Dr. Margarita Falcon and the Haitian support team. In this dynamic mission, the team returned to the island of Ile a Vache to treat men, women and children with limited access to medical care. The solidarity with the people and the commitment to serve those in need made this mission an incredible effort. 10 weeks in the shadow of the devastation of Hurricane Matthew, this was the final official mission for hurricane relief, bringing global operations for 2016 to a strong close. Ongoing missions will focus on rescue system development on Ile a Vache in collaboration with the regional government of the island.
