Hurricane Harvey was the first major hurricane of the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season, causing over 100 deaths and inundating metropolitan Houston with over $125 billion in damages. In this mission, the team was deployed to embed with the Fire Rescue and ALS Providers based in Friendswood, Texas in southeast Houston and assisted with ALS responses. The team also helped to conduct a vaccination clinic for the police force in Friendswood for those men and women who were exposed to harm during water rescue efforts. Connections to the Friendswood team were facilitated through forward communication with Rotary Club leadership in Houston. The team also delivered much needed food supplies to feed 1,000 people to the hard hit community of Rosenberg.
